First I want to say I am in no way trying to place myself in some kind of “official” leadership capacity. I just happen to be the one who had someone else’s horse discover a sink hole in my yard and wants to communicate with my neighbors about the situation and developments.
It has been suggested that we have a meeting.
It is my opinion, twl6321, they don't seem to work. They’re difficult to setup: Find someone’s home to invade, find a date and time convenient for most, it is usually after dark so many choose to drive so parking becomes a problem, those with children need to arrange for a sitter or only one spouse can attend, some people are sick or have sick children so the meeting becomes a “super spreader” event and finally, the most difficult problem - what to wear.
I’ve been here since June, 1993; during that time I only remember being invited to 2 meetings regarding 196th. I was only able to attend one but neither seemed to accomplished anything. That is why my wife and I set up the bulletin board. It has received a lot of traffic but no one except Gordon, Steve and I have posted any actual info or opinions. The board gives everyone an opportunity to voice their opinion and respond to others when they feel like it. Some of us are early birds; some are night owls. Some react quickly; some react more slowly. Some don’t like to talk in a group; some can dominate and/or intimidate.
I feel a "Zoom" meeting might go over better than an actual in person meeting. A free Zoom account limits the number of attendees to 100 but that only counts devices so the number attending isn’t really limited. The length of time is also limited to 40 minutes. I don’t know if someone can arrange more than one meeting the same night. Ten minute intermission then back at it. If Zoom does limit the number of meetings someone can hold in a day different neighbors can host meetings one right after the other. Anyone who downloads the app has the ability to set up a meeting anytime and post the link online. It is possible someone has a paid account which has greater limits.
However, if you want to have a meeting; have one. I might even attend.
